Assemblyman Michael Kearns announces $500,000 in state funding for Botanical Gardens and South Park Lake

BUFFALO, NY- On Friday, December 1st 2017, Assemblyman Mickey Kearns (D-West Seneca) announced that a total of $500,000 in state funding has been awarded to The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and The Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. Every summer, many of the departments offer internships to high school or college students where we have the opportunity to work and gain experience. The Botanical Gardens Announces a NEW Sculpture Exhibit

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens announces a new sculpture exhibit, Whispering from the Woods, in collaboration with, sculptor and artist Kim Bellavia.  The nature themed sculpture exhibit will be displayed throughout the Botanical Gardens October 7 through November 5. Bellavia is a sculptor/mixed media artist inspired by the landscape of the state parks, woodlands and National forests in the Finger Lakes Region of NY, where she lives. Her work depicts how nature and human nature weave themselves into the intrigue of life and the entropy of existence. Make-It, Take-It Workshops to Take Place at the Botanical Gardens this Fall!

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens announces their adult Make-It, Take-It Workshops for this fall. The Kokedama Hanging Garden class will take place on October 5, the Fairy Garden workshop will be held on October 17, and the Fresh Thanksgiving Arrangement workshop will take place November 21. Make-It, Take-It Workshops are extremely popular and some classic favorites are on the Botanical Gardens’ schedule for this fall. The Kokedama Hanging Garden class will be led by David Clark on October 5 from 6-8pm. Kokedama, or “moss ball gardening” is a Japanese hanging garden that originated from bonsai styles.
