Fairies and Gnomes Visit the Botanical Gardens this Spring!

Fairies and Gnomes are mystical and magical creatures and the Botanical Gardens will celebrate their charm with the Fairy and Gnome House Contest, the Fairy and Gnome Festival and a Fairy Garden Make-It Take-It Workshops on May 6. The Botanical Gardens is looking for imaginative minds to enter the Fairy and Gnome House Contest.  Anyone can enter including; scout groups, classrooms, families, individuals, neighborhoods or teams. “House” is open to interpretation. The Horticulture team and Volunteer Committee have chosen a unique list of perennials, shrubs, and annuals to be a part of this exclusive sale. Unique Workshops and Arbor Day Activities Announced at the Botanical Gardens

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens offers a wide variety of programs and workshops throughout the year. This spring, the Botanical Gardens will hold a Kokedama Hanging Garden Workshop on April 6, two Hypertufa Container Workshops on May 13, and a Beginning Bonsai Workshop on April 27 and 28.  In celebration of Arbor Day 2017, the Botanical Gardens will host Arbor Day Tree Tours on April 28 and 29 and an Arbor Day Tree Planting on April 28. Medicinal Garden Features Planned at the Botanical Gardens!

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will host three Medicinal Garden Features this spring.  March 18 will be the first, supporting Nutrition and Poison Prevention Month. SPRING … a Spectacular Time of Year at the Botanical Gardens!

Spring is a very busy season at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens with something to offer all ages. To kick off the season, Taste of Paradise, a fun, tropical-themed cocktail party, is planned for March 31. Opening April 1, the Spring Flower Exhibit will indulge visitors in the beautiful colors and fragrances of spring.  Through a collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County and 4-H, the Botanical Gardens will host the 4-H Farm daily from April 1-23.
