Winter Break and Beyond… Fun for Kids and Families at the Botanical Gardens

Buffalo, NY – The Botanical Gardens offers many events for kids and families this winter break and into spring.  Kids Day on February 16 from 10am-4pm offers kids and families a chance to partake in fun activities throughout the Botanical Gardens during the day and Lumagination is a great winter escape running Wednesday through Saturday evenings through February 20.  Wegmans Family Days offer programming for the whole family, once a month and Sunday Programming will be offered monthly. Several sessions of Kids Art Classes will also be offered February 27 through May.

Kids Day, on February 16 from 10am-4pm, will celebrate kids 12 and under with free admission to the Botanical Gardens. School is out so it is the perfect time to experience what the Botanical Gardens has to offer. There will be hands-on activities stationed throughout the Botanical Gardens and the whole family will enjoy a day of fun in the beautiful, tropical Garden. Admission prices are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (55+) and students (13+ with ID) and kids 12 and under are free.

Already in its third week, Lumagination is a captivating interactive exhibit that has transformed the Botanical Gardens with light, sound and imagination.  All ages are delighting in this amazing and unique event that runs through February 20.  Lumagination takes visitors on a spectacular walk through the Botanical Gardens to experience creatively themed greenhouses, interactive entertainment and so much more!  A truly unique experience… Lumagination will take place Wednesday through Saturday nights through February 20. Show hours will be 6:00-9:00 pm Wednesday and Thursday nights and until 10:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Admission doors will open at 6:00 pm each night and admission is $12 for adults, $10 for Garden members, seniors (55+) and students (13+), $5 kids 3-12 and kids 2 and under are free. 

The whole family will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning activities centered around nutrition during Wegmans Family Days on February 20, March 19, April 16, May 21 and June 18 from 10am-2pm. Each Family Day has a different nutritional theme including; Rainforest Exploration, Spring Celebration, All About Trees, Extraordinary Pollinators and Desert Adventures. These activities are aligned for children ages 4-10 but caregivers for the youngest learners are encouraged to assist with the creations. Sunday Programming, offered on February 28, March 20, April 24 and May 22, is another way kids can have fun in the Wegmans Family Garden with various hands-on activities. Admission prices are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (55+) and students (13+ with ID), $5 for kids ages 3-12, and free for members and kids 2 and under.        

Kids Art Classes offer a creative outlet for kids ages 5-15. These multi-medium art classes are taught by professional artist and teacher, Joan Saba and participants will take home a piece of their art each class. Art Classes are offered in three different sessions: KAA - February 27, March 5 and 12; KAB - March 19, April 9 and 16; KAC - April 23, May 7 and 14; KAD - May 28, June 4 and 18.
