S1. Ceanothus ‘Marie Bleu’

S1. Ceanothus ‘Marie Bleu’

Looking for blue in your garden palette?  ‘Marie Bleu’ has dark green leaves and unusual lavender-blue flowers.  A showstopper in the garden with loads of misty blue flowers in late spring followed by attractive red seed heads.  Shear lightly after flowering to get another re-bloom in the summer.  Every garden needs this unique flowering shrub.

Ceanothus will develop deep roots that help make it drought resistant.  If it dies back in winter, it will grow back from the woody base.  Plant in an area with good drainage and protect from strong winds.

2-3’H, 2-3’W, full sun.  Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Deer resistant.
