Planting Workshop

The Botanical Gardens offers a general program for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Our Planting Workshop includes a mini-tour of the Botanical Gardens along with a hands-on planting lesson. The workshop lasts one hour and can be tailored to suite different ages and abilities.

Cost: $9 per Scout, Minimum of 10 Scouts
One adult is admitted free for every 10 scouts. Additional adults are required to pay Botanical Gardens' admission.

Hands-On Options
Tropical Terrarium– Scouts will create individual sealed gardens to take home. They will build and understanding of plant care, growth, and anatomy. Scouts will also learn about the water cycle and its relation to plants and the rest of the planet.

Succulent Garden– Scouts will build their own desert garden to take home. They will learn all about the desert biome and the different ways plants have adapted to survive in different climates.
